We received our final amniocentesis results today. They confirmed that all of Christian's other chromosomes are NORMAL and free of abnormalities. At this point, the only two explanations the drs offer are 1.) This has happened by 'chance' 2.) There is a rare genetic syndrome that is the culprit that wouldn't show up in an amnio. Depending on the syndrome, they may not be able to isolate what it is until after he is born. Our question of whether or not this is hereditary and recurring is still unanswered, so please pray that we can take this one step at a time without worrying about future pregnancies now. It seems so bizarre to have so much information and yet really know nothing. If nothing else, these results continue to prove that anything is possible so we'll continue to hope and pray as long as Christian's heart is still beating (and he's still kicking me around. =)
